This weekend I have been working on quilting.

I pulled out the bear's paw quilt again (I am working on it for
Myra's PhD Challenge). I am hand quilting the border now. If this quilt had been machine quilted, it would have been finished years ago!

Since you can't tell from the front, this is the back. I used a stencil for the braid design.

Today for the
FMQ Challenge I quilted the background on an applique block.

The back again. I used a
McTavishing design for this one. Tomorrow I will add some quilting to the appliques.
On Thursday I "Skyped" for the first time with Joan (
Joan at Leschenault) using my son's computer. Unbelievable that we were on the other sides of the world, chatting and showing each our quilts. It was just like visiting with her in her home.

So today I purchased a web cam for my computer, so I can Skype some more (need to get some more Skypeing friends too).
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

You've been busy. I can't wait to see the finished quilt (the first one). The material looks awesome. Hugs
Isn't video chatting the greatest ?
I wish more of us in blogland took advantage of this method of communicating. It is just the neatest thing to be about to see what the other is talking about.
I use google video chat - a free feature of google.
Hugs,
Gerry
AND its was a wonderful Skpye too. Pleased you have your own webcam Joanne. Back to bed for me ... not feeling well :( Your quilting is going wonderfully. Its addictive isnt it?
Wish I checked my spelling sometimes :)
love your hand quilting!! it is great that you are sparked to finished that piece
also love your mctavishing..I have been practicing on paper some designs and will be starting a quilt as you go so will be quilting on some small blocks to practice...cross your fingers..
I'd like to see your whole hand-pieced quilt laid out. It looks nice, what I can see. I've been debating on whether I want to do the quilting also by hand on my hand-pieced quilt. I 'think' I do, but I shudder to begin.
Your hand quilted braid looks AWESOME!! I wish I had the patience for hand quilting. Keep it up!
Cheers!
