Henrietta Whiskers

I decided to start another BOM!

Henrietta Whiskers by Bunny Hill Design
I think the patterns will be available for the year.

I have been waiting to finish the Thread Head Quilt Along quilt, and getting caught up on the other two BOM's I joined this year before I started this new BOM. This was the weekend. I am using a "Civil War Chronicles" bundle that I recently bought (more about that later).

January's block

February's block (just some vines to finish stitching)

March's block

April's block (it was the crows that persuaded me to join in on this BOM)

This is going to end up looking very scrappy. Love it!
This sure is a fun BOM, all the blocks are so different, plus this is the first time I have added embroidery to a quilt (the buttons will be sewn on after quilting).

On to the problem with the fat quarters -

When I opened up the Civil War Chronicles fat quarter bundle I was very surprised by how small they all were. Mostly all about 17" x 21", a few were less than that (they are advertised at being 20" x 22" - there wasn't one that size). In the above picture I laid the best CWC fq on a Moda fq (from a Civil War Homefront bundle) and you can still see the difference.

Plus lots of the fq's looked like the edges had been chewed.

I did contact Marcus Fabrics and they replied very quickly.

Now to get some things ready for the Free Motion Quilting Challenge starting at the end of the week.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Your blocks are gorgeous! It's going to such a pretty scrappy quilt! I can't believe how much smaller your FQs were! What was the company response?? By the way, you are BOM queen!! :-)

I love the Bunny Hill designs, but I never got around to making the Bunny BOM, which I really loved :-( Sigh......

The fabrics you selected are working well in your applique project. I am saving the Henrietta blocks to do later on. Too many projects started already.

Love the Henrietta blocks. I sure hope Marcus Fabrics is going to make everything right. It looks like they were cut with a chain saw. What was their excuse for the small size?

Your Henrietta blocks are looking wonderful! I love the fabrics. I really want to do this one too but want to finish up a few quilt tops first. I'm hoping to do that with your FMQ challenge. I'm looking forward to it!

Your blocks are beautiful!

I hope you received a satisfactory response about the FQs. Those edges look awful.

I love your blocks in the Civil War prints, just beautiful! I"m also doing this BOM and love the combination of piecing and applique. I hope you will post to Anne's group!

Those FQs almost look as though they were laundered, but first cut with a hacksaw. I hope you complained :-(

I see what you mean about the fat quarters! Shame on them!

Joanne, your Henrietta Whiskers blocks are adorable. Nice scrappy look with the vintage looking fabrics. I want to join the FMQ Challenge because I have several projects to quilt. The Challenge will help me dedicate time just for quilting.

I've saved the Henrietta Whiskers patterns too.

I've also started Henrietta but do not have this months block done yet but it is cut and ready to go ;-) Love that scrappy look! Can't believe those fat quarters I hope the company is going to reimburse you in some way that is not nice.
