Snappy Little Bag and a Challenge!

Today I made a little bag from a pattern that my Mother had.

The pattern is "Snap Happy" by Stitchin' Sisters.

At the top there are two pieces of metal tape-measure (that's what makes the bag snap!). I made the small (5" x 4½") size. The concept is pretty simple, I think I will try out other variations to use up some more of the tape-measure.

Now for the "Challenge"! Jandi has put out the challenge to show off our creative spaces (without cleaning up first!). This is mine today -

I have been sewing together the hexagons. All the rows are sewn and I am currently working on sewing the rows together.

This is the other side of the side where today I have the ironing board set up. My sewing area is in the kitchen, (where a table could be, instead we have a sewing table and a keyboard) and next to the family room. I love being with everyone when I sew, and the light is fantastic.

Today orange flowers are blooming.

This is the only tiger lily that the rabbits haven't eaten!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!!

Wow, Joanne, if that is your sewing space without being cleaned up, you are very neat! Mine right now looks like a tornado went through it! :o)

Beautiful orange flowers... I think Snapdragons are so pretty; and your Marigold and Tiger Lily aren't bad, eiher!

XOXO,

Cyndi

I love your sewing space! and those orange flowers are gorgeous! very inspirational. I have a friend in Alaska who sent me a "snappy bag" at Christmas! I love it! It's great for keeping projects in. I thought it was a mini blind in there... didn't think of using a tape measure! :)

What an ingenious idea for a bag closure. I went right over to Stichin' Sisters and ordered a pattern. Thanks for the idea. Your flowers are beautiful. Lynne

I love seeing people's creative studio space. It's so interesting seeing what type of setup works for everyone. They're all so different!

And I see a Viking! I have a Sapphire 850 but yours looks like a step or two up from mine, more buttons! It looks really good on the nicely finished sewing table.

I've always wanted to make one of those snap bags! I have a free tute somewhere on one of my kazillion free pattern lists! And ...you have the same sewing machine that I do!!! Aren't they fabulous? Anything you especially like/dislike about yours?
