Socks coming Along

I have turned the heels on my sample socks and am working on the gusset.

I think I have figured out the mistakes from the "2-at-a-Time Socks" book. It is like learning to make this sock technique again. I guess all the mistakes didn't matter too much, I managed to make quite a few socks before I knew about the mistakes.

I found a couple of contests today. Amy over at Kati Cupcake Pattern Co, is giving away a fat quarter bundle. It doesn't say when this give away ends. Sande Chase over at A Gift Wrapped Life is having a give away of beautiful Charlotte Moss products. Just in time for Valentines Day, the draw date is Feb. 1st.

We are supposed to be having a blizzard later this weekend. Today we had a lot of wet snow, something that is very unusual for us. Usually it is so cold here, that the snow doesn't stick together. My family shoveled and played (tobogganing, snowball fight etc) outside this afternoon, we even started a snowman. I can't remember the last time we were able to make a snowman!

I am hoping to get some sewing done tomorrow.
Hope you are having a great weekend!

Love the socks, I admire those who like to knit. I would rather just purchase them from the local Wal-Mart, VBG, More time to quilt!

Cheers,
Bobbie

I just caught up on your blog - haven't been able to get to it for a week. I'm not a quilter at all, and only a beginning knitter, but I love your blog. You've made the most beautiful things! And I really enjoy your Friday show and tell. Can't wait for next weeks treasures!

I hope you are keeping warm and cosy, good weather for homemade socks! I've never knitted socks but I'm going to one day, I've got the wool, the needles and the pattern it's just the actual doing I don't seem to get to - mmm, you may just inspire me to dig it all out when it cools down a bit - it is summer here so a bit warm for knitting.

I just had to stop by and check out your blog. Thanks for commenting on my blog http://www.hummingbirdquilter.com.

We live south of Syracuse NY - so know what snow is supposed to me. It's been a mild winter so far - but predicitions are that it will really start up by the end of the week.

Not a problem. Gives me more of an opportunity to stay where it nice and warm and quilt!
