Keeping Busy

I have been keeping busy, mainly with household chores - like cleaning and cooking.

My main cooking seems to be trying to use all the tomatoes from the garden. I have made so much roasted tomato sauce!

This batch had all kinds of heirloom tomatoes, it was so pretty before roasting (I add lots of garlic, onions, herbs, salt and pepper, and a bit of olive oil).

This is after a few hours in the oven at 350°F, not so pretty, but yummy.

I used an immersion blender to puree the sauce - perfect for pizzas.

I have also found time for a bit of reading, this is my BIL's new book.

We have had some crazy weather recently, 30°C (86°F) last Saturday, and a few days later,  two days of snow (way to early for me).

At least it all melted pretty quick. Here are some partridges at the bird feeder.

I have done some sewing too (along with the Quilt Along blocks) -

I finished this is Medallion Star this week. The pattern is from my favourite book "Fat Quarter Quilting" by Lori Smith (it is 16" x 20").

This is last month's Small Quilt from Kathleen Tracy (the free pattern can be found here). I have only stitched in the ditch so far, and I am waiting to do more quilting once I have finished a Craftsy class that I am taking - Design It, Quilt It by Cindy Needham (when I bought it it was on sale for $29. It seems good so far).

I also pieced this little basket quilt (it is a Jo Morton pattern). The blocks are 3".

Off to do some more vacuuming!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
