This weeks block is a combination of Cross 4 and Shoo Fly from EQ7 (9").
Pretty simple block. I chose to use 5 different fabrics (some are small scraps) plus the background, but you could use 3 different fabrics plus the background.
You will need -
Background -
2 - 3+7/8" squares for the half square triangles (HST) in the corners
Print A (mine is brown print) -
2 - 3+7/8" squares for the half square triangles (HST) in the corners
Print B (mine is red) -
8 - 1½" x 3½" rectangles ( I used 4 - 7" long strips, because I like strip piecing and that is how much fabric I had - you will need a 28" long strip that is 1½" wide total, if you are strip piecing)
Print C (mine is beige/brown print) -
4 - 1½" x 3½" rectangles (I used 2 - 7" long strips - you will need a 14" long strip)
Print D (mine is brown print - you could use print C) -
5 - 1½" squares for the center 9-patch
Print E (mine is brown - you could use print B) -
4- 1½" squares for the center 9-patch
Make the HST with the 3+7/8" background and print A squares (trace a diagonal line, sew ¼" on either side, cut on the line, press to the dark), trim the four HST to 3½" squares.
Piece the print B and print C rectangles together.
Trim the four units to 3½" squares.
Make the center nine-patch with the nine 1½" squares.
Trim this unit to a 3½" square.
Now all the units are ready to be sewn together in the regular nine-patch method.
Trim the block to 9½" square (9" finished).
I made the second one the same way.
Next Wednesday is the last block! I can't believe it!!
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!!♥
