So Many Circles!

I have been prepping the applique pieces for the March Granny's Hankie BOM.

There are 37 circles of different sizes in this block - so I have been busy basting. Once that is finished, all the seams need to be pressed onto the freezer paper.

I really like blocks of the month - I have joined 3 this year!! I think my next quilt-along will be a BOM.....maybe starting in October again.....maybe with Bali fabric......maybe with some applique....I have some ideas! I have had so much fun with the current one. A quilting community is a wonderful thing! Thanks!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!♥

Have fun with your circles! I will be on the look out for your next sew along. I was too late to get in on this one. I have been looking at the blocks, though, and really like them.

Joanne,

Thanks for the post !! I went right to your Granny's Hanky link and found March's beautiful BOM. I am again exposed to how talented the quilting community is... and how generous. I recently learned needle turn applique so the beautiful designs that Denise is sharing are perfect to continue to feed that addiction !! Unfortunately I missed Jan and Feb designs but I'm sure I can repeat designs to make a quilt or make a smaller quilt. So lovely. Thanks again for sharing. BTW: I am making gains at FMQ on my DSM - many thanks to you for continuing to share your work and encouragement. Have a great day! Karen

Ambitious and lovely project!!

OK, I don't applique (yet), but I have a friend who does. She has a trick for getting those edges neatly folded around the freezer paper. She uses rubber cement! She uses a small brush to put a thin layer on both the exposed edge of the fabric and on the edge of the freezer paper. Once it's dry, she folds it over carefully. After the applique is done, she does not seem to have any problems removing the paper.

I haven't done any BOM's yet so I look forward to yours. I'm really enjoying the quilt-alongs I've joined this year...so much fun. I looked at that quilt and thought...wowser that is going to be some quilt. So very pretty.

I have no will power when it comes to BOM's. I save way too many and actually start way too many, but do finish most of them I guess. Just my two cents..I LOVE piecing and applique combined in quilts.
