Finished Pinning

Today I pinned the THQA quilt.

It is such a big quilt (105" square), that I had no large spot to lay it out - the picture is the last third being pinned (I was scrounging all over the house for enough pins!).

I also sewed a few rows of tumbler blocks together. I cut out over 550 blocks with the 3" GO! Tumbler die, and if my calculations are correct the quilt should be 50"x69" (24 blocks per row, and 23 rows). The blocks all go together so perfectly!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!!

It looks REALLY BIG in that picture. Those extra borders add up quick.

It is such a large quilt. I have two borders on and need to get the last two on before it is ready for that point.

It's stunning. Glad you mentioned the pins...I'll have to buy some more before I get to pinning mine.

Your THQA is just wonderful! Can't wait to see the whole thing together. Don't you love those little tumblers? They go together so easily, and really make a great quilt. Your colors are so warm and cozy, too. I'm thinking of doing a version of a 9 patch with the tumblers, putting sections together, then squaring off into blocks. I'd lose the edges of the side tumblers, but I think it would make an interesting quilt, especially if I set it on point.

Just glanced at the pictures first before I read and was thinking that the tumbler blocks were borders for the QAL quilt. That would have looked great too!
