Free Motion Quilting Class

I am so thrilled to announce that my Free Motion Quilting class is now available for registration!!

The class is offered through the Macdonald-Headingley Recreation District just outside of
Winnipeg, MB.
Details -
3 Wednesdays, October 1st, 8th and 15th.
6:00pm-9:00pm
at the Oak Bluff School Library (to be confirmed)
Oak Bluff is at McGillivray and the Perimeter (by the John Deere dealership).

If you live in the area the class is $60, and I believe around $72 if you live outside of the area (still a wonderful price!).

Registration deadline is September 24th - register early as there is a maximum of 8 students (great small class!).
More details and the link for registration can be found online here.

Normally my classes are a day long workshop, but for this I decided to try splitting it up into 3 evenings to give students time to practice at home and to absorb all the information - I am really looking forward to it, it is going to be lots of fun!

I will cover all kinds of topics related to free motion quilting on a domestic sewing machine.

From easy allover quilting designs -

to more custom quilting designs -

and lastly feathers -

and I'll give ideas for designing whole cloth quilts -

I'll also talk about threads, batting, ideas for 'what to quilt where', ways to make quilting large quilts on a domestic sewing machine easier....and so much more! There will be lots of samples to see too.

My classes are all about encouraging students to develop their own style of quilting. This class is for absolute beginners, as well as more experienced free motion quilters wanting to explore different quilting designs.

I believe it is the QUILTING that turns fabric (pieced or plain) into a one of a kind, work of art, quilt! And, YES! You Can do it Yourself!! It is YOUR creation!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!♥︎

Making Bags

Today my mother and sister came over to make bags.

My mother free motion quilting.

My sister working. This is the first bag she has made and the first time she is making something with free motion quilting!
They both worked hard all day and made beautiful bags!

The basic bag pattern is "Clematis" by Laundry Basket Quilts, they just did their own embellishments (still had to add some buttons). I made the Clematis bag in January.

Have a great day!
