Week 19 of 2025

This week I finished knitting a pair of socks -

A handspun merino/nylon blend. Toe-up, 64 stitches, knit two-at-a-time on a long circular needle. 

I added a simple wave stitch pattern to make the knitting more interesting (the colour is really hard to photograph!).

I dyed the fibre and spun the yarn last summer.

Molly found a Mallard nest in the trees (this one is intact, she had found another nest where all ten eggs had been eaten, just the shells left).

Every morning we scare some Mallards off the other pond on our walk.

Some Canada Geese on the pond - they seemed just as curious about us as we were of them (we are hoping they make a nest).

Molly loves to play with the cats - she usually runs around Miss Maggie until Maggie charges at her,

but GingerSnap! plays along.
