Rachel did a great job, there is a wonderful tip on reducing the bulk in the middle. My fabric is a layer cake called Alliance by Moda, and the background is by Buggy Barn. It is reproduction fabric and I love the colours!
Today I realized that I should use the yellow lines as a guide for machine quilting!! Always something new to learn!!

It sure has seen better days!! It is currently being used to darken my oldest child's room - reason for the sun damage.
It is a pattern from the spring/summer 2009 issue of Quilt Sampler magazine - Bountiful Batiks. It is her third large quilt and the first one she machine quilted. She did a great job!
My father made this. He does such amazing cross stitch, something he took up when he retired! This one is called "Home of a Quilter" by Told in a Garden.
Don't look too closely, still trying to figure out the pattern! I was doing it as I was "watching" the women's hockey at the Olympics. Canada won GOLD!!! Yeah!!!
I moved my dining room table into the kitchen. I use the old island counter top from my kitchen to machine quilt large quilts on. My husband cut out the end the same as my Plexiglas sewing table. There are little legs underneath. It works fantastically!!
Don't adjust your set, that is a pink counter top. When we moved in a couple of years ago there were pink counter tops, pink wall-to-wall carpets, pink and white linoleum!! Also the walls were painted a yellowish-brown colour that should only be seen in a new born baby's diaper!
The rabbits have been enjoying the frozen pumpkins.
The Judy Martin Log Cabin book came highly recommended. I am not disappointed! She is still my favorite quilt designer/author. Her books are well explained and very detailed. The first quilt book I bought is Judy Martin's "Scrap Quilts" and it is still one of my favorites.
They went together really well. Lots of people have been posting their pictures over at Flickr.

I love this pattern and have made a few variations of it. Very simple, four 7" blocks and about one yard of main fabric.
I will finish it tonight when I watch the Olympics. Go Canada!

It is wonderful to learn something new!! I have tried out many different techniques, but apart from hand applique (which takes a long time) I was never pleased with any of them. Kim Diehl's technique is fabulous. Easy to learn, with excellent results. Even my first sample piece looked good! It involves freezer paper and a small zig-zag with mono filament. I see many more applique projects in my future!
I finished piecing my Camp Sloanie Olympic Challenge piece today. It is all ready to be machine quilted on Friday night at the Friday Night Sew In! The binding is also all ready to go if I get really ambitious!
I am going to put an applique in the bottom left corner. Trying hard to finish it this week!!
I chopped the frozen pumpkins up yesterday, and the rabbits have been enjoying them. They had been chewing on the outsides, but really like the seeds inside.
I will put it away for this week. I have to piece together some leftover fabrics that I will use for the backing. Next week I hope to start machine quilting it. Still have to decide what I am going to do. Waiting for inspiration!!

Anniversary Flowers
I don't think it is as wonky as some of the ones I have seen. I just don't seem to be too liberated!
I am really glad I joined the Camp Sloanie Winter Olympic Challenge. I don't think I would have ever tried finishing the table runner otherwise .
It is made from scraps, and hand quilted. It is in great shape and one of my favorites.
